Meet Our NSR Student Editors — Evangelista Chicheko, Social Media Editor – The North Star Reports – Sponsored by The College of St. Scholastica and The Middle Ground Journal
Evangelista Chicheko, NSR Social Media Editor. Major: Computer Science, Minor: Finance, Institution: The College of St Scholastica, Duluth, MN. Intended Graduation year: May, 2017. Year starting with NSR/MGJ: 2015. Hometown: Harare, Zimbabwe
As a Computer Science major, I evolve around the technical world. I have a great interest in technical news and anything that has to do with technology. On another note, I also have an interest in business and that is why I chose a Finance minor. That being said, I aspire to become a Business Analyst then a Certified Financial Analyst eventually.
Apart from my technical interests, I also enjoy reading international news to keep me updated on what’s happening in the world around us.
Having to volunteer for the NSR as a social media editor has been one of the great opportunities that have come my way. This is because I get to share some news happening in the world with everyone who visits the page. My objective is to share news articles from all aspects so that our readers will be aware of the happenings in the world. Apart from sharing, this is also a learning and receiving process for me. I will also read articles shared by other editors and this will increase my knowledge of world news.

The North Star Reports publishes edited essays from our students, particularly from those who are currently stationed, or will soon be stationed abroad. Students have reported from Mongolia, Southern China, Shanghai, northeastern China, The Netherlands, Tanzania, Ireland, England, Finland, Russia, and Haiti. We also have students developing reviews of books, documentaries, and films, and analysis of current events from around the world. We will post their dispatches, and report on their interactions with the North Star Reports students and teachers. We thank The Department of History and Politics and the School of Arts and Letters of The College of St. Scholastica for their generous financial support for The North Star Reports and The Middle Ground Journal.
